On the 16th of October took place the 2nd Terrassa’s Open Governemt Day – #oGovDayTerrassa. Last year’s edition was dedicated to Open Data and Transparency. This year, the focus moved toward Participation, and it started with a keynote speech from José Ignacio Criado, founder of NovaGob, on “Networks, participation and open government”.
Afterwards, I shared a discussion table on “New forms of participation: challenges and opportunities” with researchers Mila Gascó and Ismael Peña-López.
My main message was: the time for opportunities has already been missed by administrations, politicians and academics. It is now mostly challenges what lie ahead, as the innovation is being done by other actors.
